About Your Stock Plan Account

How often is my Stock Plan Account balance updated?

The Stock Plan Account Balances screen is updated intraday, including real-time stock sell execution and other activity (e.g., dividends). Intraday balances are shown in bold, gold type.

Where can I find information about positions that closed in the current or previous calendar year?

Use the Stock Plan Account Closed Positions screen to view information about positions that closed in the current or previous calendar year. The information, sorted in ascending sell request by CUSIP and date sold, includes (for each closed lot) quantity, cost basis (when known), and the proceeds, if any, from the sale. For income tax purposes, gain on positions associated with an equity compensation plan or Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) may be treated as ordinary income rather than a capital gain.

Where can I find lot detail for a particular position?

Total cost basis information for each position can be found on the Cost Basis screen. To view lot detail for a position, select View Lots in the corresponding Quantity cell.

How do I estimate my gain if I exercised my options?

Use Estimate Gains to estimate the proceeds you'd receive by exercising your options, or to estimate the number of options you'd need to exercise in order to receive a certain amount of cash or underlying shares.

How many months of history can I view on the History screen?

You can view up to 18 months of history, in 90-day segments. Intraday history displays in bold italics. For history beyond the last 18 months, refer to your printed statements or contact a Fidelity Stock Plan Services representative. You can find our contact information on the Contact Us page.

Do unsettled transactions appear on the Positions Summary screen?

All positions held in your account, including unsettled transactions, appear on the Positions Summary screen as of the date displayed.

When I'm selling stock from my Stock Plan Account, how do I specify the tax lots for these shares?

Select the Tax Lots Choose Specific Shares field if you want to specify the tax lots from which to sell shares. Edit the number of shares specified in the Shares Specified field.

Use caution when placing market stock sell requests because the price of securities may change sharply during the trading day or after-hours. During periods of heavy trading or volatility, real-time quotes may not reflect current market prices or quotes. Please review the sell request information and quote provided on the Stock Sell Request Verification screen before submitting your sell request.

When you have net proceeds from your company’s stock plans, the method by which these proceeds are distributed to you depends on your company's plan.

What are the different ways I can view account documents online?

You can view statements, trade confirmations, tax forms, and prospectuses/reports as Web pages. You can also view statements, trade confirmations, and tax forms as PDFs, for better print quality. PDFs require Adobe® Reader®.
