Naked Call
The writing of call contracts without owning the underlying stock. The maximum profit is the amount of premium collected, but the risk is significant, as with short-selling.

Naked Put
The writing of a put contract without also short selling the underlying stock or having an affiliated position. The maximum profit is the premium collected. The maximum risk is the strike price sold, less the premium received. This strategy is commonly used by investors who are looking to accumulate shares in the underlying stock.

NASDAQ Composite Index
The NASDAQ Composite Index is an unmanaged, market-capitalization-weighted index that is
designed to represent the performance of the National Association of Securities Dealers
Quotations Stock Market, which includes more than 3,000 domestic and international based
common stocks. The index does not include the reinvestment of dividends.
Name
The full name of a security (e.g., International
Business Machines for the trading symbol IBM) or an index (e.g., Dow Jones Industrial Average for
DJIA).
Name/Hide Accounts
Refers to the ability to name your Fidelity accounts
and annuities and to hide zero-balance accounts and zero-balance positions in eligible mutual fund
accounts*.
* The option to hide zero-balance positions is only available for eligible mutual fund accounts.
NAV Price
Refer to Net Asset Value.
Negotiated
The sale of a new issue of municipal securities by an issuer directly to an underwriter or underwriting syndicate selected by the issuer. A negotiated sale is distinguished from a sale by competitive bid, which requires public bidding by the underwriters. Among the primary points of negotiation for an issuer are the interest rate, call features, and purchase price of the issue. The sale of a new issue of securities in this manner is also known as a negotiated underwriting.
Net Amount
The amount of your withdrawal request, less any applicable fees and tax withholding.
Net Asset Value (NAV)
The market value of a share of a mutual fund as calculated after the close of the previous trading day.
The dollar value of one share of a fund determined by taking the total assets of a fund, subtracting the total liabilities, and dividing by the total number of shares in the fund.

Net Bid/Ask
On multi-leg option trading screens, the net bid or ask price for an option across all exchanges. Note that net bid/ask is an estimate; your actual bid or ask price may vary at time of trade.
Net Cash
This field displays on the Exercise History and
Exercise History Details screens for an exercise and
sell transaction. This is the cash the optionee
received after subtracting the exercise cost and any
applicable commissions, fees, and taxes.
Net Cash Proceeds
The cash the optionee
received after subtracting the exercise cost and any
applicable commissions, fees, and taxes.
Net Change
The dollar amount change in the price of the
security since the previous day's close.
Net Change ($)
The dollar amount of change calculated by subtracting the cost from the current market value of the security.
Net Change %
The percent change in the price of the security since the previous day's close.
Net Debit
The amount of premium that paid to enter into an options strategy. It is the difference between the price of the options sold and the options bought. The expressed value is the cost related to the transactions. It does not include commissions.
Net Flow
The difference between inflow and
outflow. This value is calculated after market close of the prior business day.
Net Gain/Loss
The net monetary amount, gain or loss, realized
from selling security shares. The amount includes disallowed losses. This amount is calculated to two
decimal points using the formula:
net long-term + net short-term = net gain/loss.
Net Long-Term
The net total of all realized long-term gains and
losses from security sales as determined by Fidelity, adjusted for
disallowed
losses:
total long-term gain - (total long-term loss - total long-term disallowed loss) = net long term.
Net Share Proceeds
The number of shares the optionee
received after subtracting the exercise cost and any
applicable commissions, fees, and taxes.
Net Shares
A tax withholding method by which the Restricted
Stock Award (RSA) sponsor retains enough shares to cover your tax withholding due. You will receive
fewer shares, but will not have to cover the taxes with existing funds.
Net Short-Term
The net total of all realized short-term gains and
losses from security sales as determined by Fidelity, adjusted for
disallowed
losses:
total short-term gain - (total short-term loss - total short-term disallowed loss) = net short-term.
Net Worth
The total value (total assets minus total
liabilities) of an account as of the close of the prior business day.
The amount includes:
New Amount
For employee stock purchase plans, this amount refers to the new dollar amount or percentage that will be
withheld for stock purchase during the specified offering period.
New Issue Offerings
This refers to fixed-income securities (e.g.,
bonds) that you purchase directly from the issuer usually at
face value through Fidelity. For example, buy a
Treasury Auction bond directly from the U.S. government at
face value, $1,000.
New Payroll Deduction
For employee stock purchase plan, this amount refers to the new dollar amount or percentage that will
be withheld for stock purchase during the current period.
Next Anticipated Rate
For Municipal Reset securities, the rate communicated as a guideline by the broker-dealer holding the auction. It is intended as a good faith estimate, based on market and other information, to indicate when the next auction is likely, but not guaranteed, to clear.
Next Auction Date
For Municipal Reset securities, the date on which the next auction will take place and a new rate will be established. On the day after the auction, the agreed rate will become the Current Rate.
Next Call Date
The next date on which a bond that can be redeemed
before the scheduled maturity may be redeemed by the
issuer.
Next Call Price
The price the issuer will pay for a bond if the issuer redeems, calls, the bond on
the next date when they may do so, the next call
date.
Next Call Type
Indicates the basis on which the issuer of a
fixed-income security (e.g., bond) may redeem, call,
the security before the scheduled maturity. For example:
Next Coupon
The date (MM/YY) of the bond's next coupon payment.
Next Payment Date
For bond ladders, this date refers to the date you are scheduled to receive the next interest payment from the bond issuer.
With regard to the Smart Payment Program, this date is the next that a payment will be made through the Program. Payments are made on the last business day of each month.
Next Reset Date
The next date upon which a new rate will be established for stepped and variable rate securities.
Next Reset Rate
The next rate that will be established for stepped and variable securities.
Non-Callable (Call Protection)
Indicates whether the bond is non-callable,
i.e., has call protection. Yes means the bond is not callable.
Non-Cash Liquidation Distributions
Non-cash distributions made by corporations that
were partially or completely liquidated. Fidelity reports the equivalent fair market value of the
security distribution.

A condition on an order indicating that no restrictions have been placed on
the execution of the order.

Non-Marginable Security
A security that cannot be bought by borrowing on margin.
This type of security must be paid for with cash.
Non-Qualified Dividends
A dividend that does not qualify for the reduced tax rates as
stipulated in the Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003.
Non-Qualified Stock Options (NSOs)
A stock option is the opportunity, granted to you
by the issuer (e.g., your company), to purchase a certain number of shares of your company's common stock
at a pre-established grant price over a defined period
of time. NSOs are traditional stock options that do not meet certain IRS requirements, and therefore are not eligible to afford you special tax treatment.
Non-Reportable Option Sales
Proceeds from the sale of options, including premiums received from writing options. Fidelity is not required
to report this information to the IRS.
Nondividend Distributions
The portion of a fund's total distributions that exceeds its taxable earnings for the year (sometimes referred to as a return of capital). A nondividend distribution is treated as a non-taxable return of the cost of your investment to the extent of your tax basis in your shares, and as capital gain to the extent that it exceeds your tax basis in your shares. A nondividend distribution reduces your tax basis in your shares (but not below zero) and thus increases any gain or reduces any loss on a subsequent sale or other taxable disposition of your shares.
Non U.S. Treasury Bonds & Notes Interest
The total interest paid during the
calendar year from all debt instruments other than U.S. Treasury obligations.
No Preference
For specific share trades, choose this option if you do not
want Fidelity to sort the tax lots for your order.
Not Eligible for Credit Adjustment
Fidelity's credit adjustment policy applies only to substitute payments received in eligible accounts as a result of a security being loaned from a margin account, with a margin debit balance, over a record date. Substitute payments could be received as a result of non-qualified dividend or interest payments and these payments would not result in a credit adjustment.
Nothing Done
An order status alert that indicates an order good only for the current day was not executed and was removed from the market. You must place the order again for it to be eligible the next trading day.
Number of Awards
The total number of restricted stock awards per award ID that a participant has been granted and accepted.
Number of Shares Vesting
Number of shares you wish to model.
Number of Exercises
On the Today's Exercises screen, this is the total
number of stock option exercise orders for the
current day.
Number of Income Units
The number of units owned for an investment option.
If the investment is the Fidelity Fixed Income or Guaranteed Account, this value is n/a.
Income unit applies to annuities.
Number of Options
The number of stock options in a grant that will be vested on
the date displayed on the Stock Option
Summary|Vesting Schedule and Details screen.
Number of Ounces
The number of ounces of a precious metal that would
be bought or sold as part of a trade order.

Number of Positions Held
The total number of investment options currently held in an annuity.
Number of Rights
The number of stock appreciation rights, vested and unvested, that you wish to model.
Number of Shares
On a Trade screen, the number of shares of a security that would be bought or sold as part of a trade order.
On the Transfer Shares screen, this is the number of shares to be transferred to another Fidelity account. Select this option and then enter the number of eligible shares to transfer in the corresponding text box.
Number of Units
The number of investment option units owned.
Number of Units Vesting
The number of units you wish to model.
Number of Years in Ladder
Number of years in the bond ladder, from the current day until the maturity date of the longest-dated bond.
