Alerts overview

Fidelity offers a variety of alerts for your security and convenience. You can set up customized alerts via text1 or email to monitor Fidelity® Debit Card transaction activity.

Transaction alerts

Transaction alerts, also known as debit card usage alerts, are notifications sent via text or email when your Fidelity® Debit Card is used. These alerts can be customized.

  • You can select whether you would like an email and/or text message delivered.
  • You can select more than one email address to receive an alert.
  • You can select a dollar amount threshold to trigger an alert.

While we allow you to opt out of transaction text alerts, we don’t recommend you do so, as the alerts provided are designed for your protection and could help identify a problem in real time. If you chose to opt out, reply Stop to the text alert.

Security alerts

Security alerts are notifications sent via text or email when certain transactions or updates are made to your account or Fidelity® Debit Card. If you didn’t make the transaction or the change, you should call Fidelity Debit Card Services using the number on the back of your card immediately.

  • Ensure your mobile number and email address are up to date. Review your profileLog In Required for accuracy.

While we allow you to opt out of security text alerts, we don’t recommend you do so, as the alerts provide an additional layer of security and could help identify a problem in real time. Fraud alerts

You're automatically enrolled to receive fraud text alerts through the mobile phone number on file with your Fidelity® Debit Card.

Fidelity debit card fraud text alerts originate only from the sender number 68153. If you aren't sure whether an alert is from Fidelity, please call Fidelity Debit Card Services immediately using the number on the back of your card.

You'll be notified if a highly suspicious debit card transaction occurs, allowing you to verify the activity.

  • If you recognize the transaction, confirm that in a reply to the text alert so that you can continue to safely use your card. This must be done within 24 hours.
  • If you reply that you do not recognize the transaction, your card will be blocked from further use until you call Fidelity Debit Card Services using the number on the back of your card.
  • If you do not reply to the fraud text alert, your card may be blocked from further use for your protection, and we will attempt to reach you directly by phone to verify the transaction(s).

While we allow you to opt out of transaction text alerts, we don't recommend you do so, as the alerts provided are designed for your protection and could help identify a problem in real time. If you chose to opt out, reply Stop to the text alert. Even if you choose to opt out of debit card fraud text alerts, you may still be contacted directly by phone if we detect suspicious activity on your card.

If you previously opted out of debit card fraud alerts and would like to receive them again, call Fidelity Debit Card Services using the number on the back of your card.

Email fraud alerts are currently not available. If we detect suspicious activity on your debit card, we will attempt to contact you via text message, directly by phone, or both.
