Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Plummet in Friday Trading

10:48 AM EDT, 04/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were cratering Friday morning, tumbling 7.9% to 1,897.4 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index, which is down nearly 10% for the week.

From North Asia, the sole gainer was fintech firm Pintec Technology ( PT ) , which was up 2%.

The decliners from North Asia were led by consumer finance platform LexinFintech ( LX ) and online brokerage UP Fintech ( TIGR ) , which shed 19.4% and 16.1% respectively. They were followed by fintech company Jiayin Group ( JFIN ) and tech company Xunlei ( XNET ) , which dropped 15% and 14% respectively.

There were no gainers from South Asia.

The decliners from South Asia were led by tech conglomerate Sea (SE) and IT firm Sify Technologies ( SIFY ) , which fell 10% and 8.9% respectively. They were followed by IT firm Wipro ( WIT ) and telecommunications operator Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK), which were down 5.5% and 4.9% respectively.
