After reviewing Q1 FY 25 earnings, we lower our 12-month target price by $45 to $220, 12.7x our 2026 EPS estimate, a premium to the peer average of 8.1x given PNC's stable operating model. We raise our 2025 EPS estimate by $0.11 to $15.33 and decrease 2026's by $0.17 to $17.26. It was a strong quarter for PNC as the bank left 2025 guidance unchanged (several peers made reductions) despite growing tariff tensions. We believe PNC is well positioned for uncertainty and note PNC was one of the few banks that actually saw deposit inflows following the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank. Additionally, in the most recent stress test, PNC's CET1 ratio fell just 160 bps vs. the median bank's 280 bps. Given PNC's strong position and the recent sell-off in shares, PNC will likely accelerate its share repurchase activity in upcoming quarters. However, should long-term rate rise further or tariff tensions escalate, PNC may be more cautious and build additional capital instead.
