10:10 AM EDT, 04/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- New orders for US factory goods rose by 0.6% in February, above expectations for a 0.5% increase in a survey compiled by Bloomberg and following a 1.8% increase in January.

Excluding a 1.5% gain in transportation orders, new orders would have been up 0.4% after a 0.3% increase in January, as expected.

Durable goods new orders were revised up to a 1% gain from the advance estimate of a 0.9% gain and follows a 3.4% increase in January.

Nondurable goods new orders rose by 0.3% after a matching increase in the previous month.

Factory shipments increased by 0.7%, while unfilled orders increased by 0.1%.

Factory inventories rose by 0.1% and, when combined with already-published advance estimates for retail and wholesale inventories, shows business inventories on pace for a 0.2% gain in the month.
