April 1 (Reuters) - Boeing ( BA ) slowed the production of 737 MAX airplanes to 31 per month from 38 over wing production delays, the Air Current website reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the progress of the planemaker's Renton, Washington factory.

The Renton factory had briefly reached the rate of producing 38 planes in February, but quickly pulled back to 31 planes after unfinished assembly tasks in wing production spiked sharply, the report said.

Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment outside its regular business hours.
