Dow, X-Energy Reactor Submit Building Permit Application for Texas Nuclear Plant Project

08:59 AM EDT, 03/31/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Dow (DOW) and X-Energy Reactor said Monday they have submitted a construction permit application to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for a proposed advanced nuclear reactor in Seadrift, Texas.

The proposed advanced small modular reactor project is being developed by Dow's Long Mott Energy to provide Dow's Seadrift Operations manufacturing site electrical power and steam, the company said.

Approval of the construction permit could take up to 30 months, the companies said.
