Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Drop Sharply in Friday Trading; Down 3.4% for Week

10:08 AM EDT, 03/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were sharply lower Friday morning, falling 1.53% to 2,184.04 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index, which has shed 3.4% for the week.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by biotech firm Zai Lab ( ZLAB ) and education company Four Seasons Education ( FEDU ) , which climbed 8.1% and 4.7% respectively. They were followed by mobile big data platform Aurora Mobile ( JG ) and advertising agency 36Kr (KRKR), which rose 3.7% and 1.5% respectively.

The decliners from North Asia were led by media company Phoenix New Media ( FENG ) and internet and data center services provider VNET Group ( VNET ) , which fell 8.1% each. They were followed by solar panel maker JinkoSolar ( JKS ) and online game developer The9 ( NCTY ) , which dropped 4.9% and 4.7% respectively.

From South Asia, the only gainers were financial services companies ICICI Bank ( IBN ) and HDFC Bank ( HDB ) , which increased 1.2% and 0.1% respectively.

The decliners from South Asia were led by IT firms Wipro ( WIT ) and Infosys ( INFY ) , which lost 2.6% and 1.6% respectively. They were followed by IT company Sify Technologies ( SIFY ) and tech conglomerate Sea (SE), which were down 1.5% and 1.1% respectively.
