06:29 AM EDT, 03/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- President Donald Trump said Wednesday he may consider reducing tariffs on China to facilitate a deal with ByteDance to take over TikTok's US operations.

"Maybe I'll give them a little reduction in tariffs or something to get it done," Trump told reporters.

The president hinted that he would be able to secure at least an outline of a TikTok deal by next week, but he may move the April 5 deadline further if an agreement is not reached, multiple media outlets reported.

TikTok did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
