09:53 AM EDT, 03/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Natural gas was little changed early on Monday as mild spring weather continues to limit demand ahead of the end of the heating season.

Gas for April delivery was last seen up US$0.01 to US$3.99 per million British thermal units, unchanged from a month earlier despite spiking as high as US$4.49 on March 10.

The heating season comes to an end on March 31, with the demand for the fuel moderating amid mild weather, giving producers the chance to refill inventories depleted by winter cold ahead of summer cooling demand. The Energy Information Administration last week pegged inventories at 1.11-trillion cubic feet, 10% under the five-year average.

Long-term forecasts from the National Weather Service expect most states to see seasonal or warmer temperatures in its six to 14 day forecast, keeping demand light.
