ANKARA (Reuters) - Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu has denied corruption charges brought against him, according to a court document seen by Reuters on Friday, after he was detained on Wednesday for alleged corruption and terrorism charges.

"I strongly reject all allegations," Imamoglu said in his defence, the document showed.

Imamoglu, a key opposition figure and potential challenger to President Tayyip Erdogan, was asked at least 40 questions regarding municipality tenders.
