03:10 PM EDT, 04/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Eni (E) is evaluating a potential sale of its upstream assets following a recent agreement with Vitol, Reuters reported Monday, citing Eni's chief operating officer for upstream Guido Brusco.

The Italian energy company is continuing to pursue asset sale deals as previous sales in Ivory Coast and Congo had drawn "significant" interest from various investors, Brusco reportedly told the media outlet.

In March, Eni agreed to sell stakes in assets in Ivory Coast and the Republic of Congo to Vitol for $1.65 billion, Reuters reported.

Eni and Vitol did not immediately respond to requests for a comment from MT Newswires.

Shares of Eni were down nearly 6% in recent trading.
