Volt Lithium Receives US$2 Million Grant From North Dakota Govt

11:45 AM EDT, 03/31/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Volt Lithium ( VLTLF ) on Monday said it received US$2 million in additional grant funding from the North Dakota government, boosting the company's efforts to advance its direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology for domestic commercial deployment.

This follow-on support comes via Volt's partnership with Wellspring Hydro. The two companies will deploy the new grant proceeds to scale and refine Volt's DLE technology using brines from the Bakken shale-oil field in North Dakota.

"We are deeply grateful to the State of North Dakota for this continued support, which not only reflects confidence in our DLE technology but also underscores our shared goal of strengthening the domestic supply chain for critical minerals," chief executive Alex Wylie said.
