51 national food holidays that offer freebies

Key takeaways

  • Every day below celebrates a food or drink, and some restaurants celebrate by offering freebies while supplies last.
  • Before showing up, check to see which locations are participating and whether there are requirements, like becoming a rewards member, ordering via app, or having to buy something.
  • Loyalty members or customers who download a restaurant's app or follow the restaurant on social media might get a heads-up on promotions.

You could get free food nearly every day of the year. That’s because almost every day is a national food day celebrating a different food or drink—and marketers don’t let made-up holidays go to waste. Here's what some fast food and casual dining chains have done recently or are planning soon so you can mark your calendars. Just check whether you need the app or a loyalty membership—and if they’re participating and haven’t run out of free food.
