Your debit card is getting an upgrade—new look, no foreign transaction fees

Starting in September 2024, Fidelity will begin sending a free, upgraded replacement debit card to our Cash Management Account, Fidelity Account, and Youth Account customers.


  • Your new card will have all the same great features and security you already enjoy—now without foreign transaction fees.2
  • Keep using your current card until your new card arrives.
  • We'll notify you when your new card is on its way. All reissues should be completed by March 2025.

Don't worry, you'll still be able to manage your debit card online and in the Fidelity Investments app during this change.

What you need to do

  1. Confirm your mailing address. Keep your contact informationLog In Required up to date. Your card will be mailed to the address we have on file.
  2. Activate your new card onlineLog In Required or in the Fidelity Investments app. (Fidelity Youth customers can activate in the Fidelity Youth® app.)
  3. Safely dispose of your old card. We'll deactivate your current card approximately 60 days from when your new card ships.
  4. Update recurring payments and subscriptions with your new card's security code and expiration date.
  5. Add your card to your digital walletLog In Required.

Frequently asked questions

  • When will I receive my new card?

    We're shipping reissued cards in batches, so you should receive your new card before the end of March 2025. Reissued cards will be mailed to the address we have on fileLog In Required. We'll notify you when your card ships and provide activation instructions.

  • Where can I use my Fidelity debit card?

    You can make purchases anywhere Visa is accepted and withdraw cash at ATMs worldwide wherever you see the Visa, Plus®, or Star® logos.

  • Why is Fidelity reissuing debit cards?

    Fidelity is changing the bank that issues our debit cards. Your new debit card(s) will have a new look with the same security and benefits you're already enjoying, plus zero foreign transaction fees.

  • What do I do with my old debit card?

    You can safely destroy your old card after activating your new card.

    You can continue using your current debit card until your new card arrives. Once it arrives, you should activate and begin using your new card. For your protection, we'll deactivate your old card approximately 2 months from when your new card is shipped.

  • Is the new debit card linked to the same account?

    Yes, your new debit card is linked to the same account. Your Fidelity account and routing numbers are not changing. You will be able to access your account online and in the Fidelity Investments app before, during, and after the transition to your new card.

  • Does the new debit card have a different PIN?

    Your PIN will remain the same. If you'd like to change your PINLog In Required, you can use your Fidelity Investments app or manage your PIN online.

  • Does my old debit card still work?

    Yes, you can continue using your current card until your new card arrives. Once it arrives, you should activate and begin using your new card. For your protection, we'll deactivate your old card approximately 2 months from when your new card is shipped.

  • Can I just keep my old debit card?

    Unfortunately, we cannot continue servicing your current debit card. For your protection, we'll deactivate your old card approximately 2 months from when your new card is shipped.

  • I didn't get a new debit card. What should I do?

    If you haven't received your new debit card by the end of March 2025, please call the number on the back of your current card or go to Replace cardLog In Required.

    You can continue using your current card until your new card arrives. Activate your new card when it arrives. For your protection, we'll deactivate your old card approximately 2 months from when your new card is shipped.

  • What should I do if my current card is lost or stolen before I receive the new one?

    If your debit card was lost or stolen and you have noticed unauthorized transactions, please call Fidelity Debit Card Services immediately at 800-323-5353. Representatives are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. If there are no unauthorized transactions, you can replace your cardLog In Required or request a replacement on your Fidelity Investments app.

  • I need a replacement card. Can I still request one?

    Yes, you may request a replacement card if your current one is damaged. If your debit card was lost or stolen and you have noticed unauthorized transactions, please call Fidelity Debit Card Services immediately at 800-323-5353. Representatives are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. If there are no unauthorized transactions, you can replace your cardLog In Required or request a replacement on your Fidelity Investments app.

  • My current card expires soon. Will I get a new card?

    If your current card expires before September 2024, you will automatically receive a replacement card that will look the same as your current card. Then, you will receive a new card with a new design around September 2024. We appreciate your patience if your card falls into a renewal period close to our conversion.

  • Will I be charged ATM fees?

    ATMs with the Allpoint or MoneyPass logos, as well as Leader Bank ATMs, will continue to provide a surcharge-free ATM experience.3

    Other institutions may assess fees for use of ATMs in their network. Fidelity Cash Management Account owners, Youth Account owners, or Fidelity Account owners coded Premium, Active Trader VIP, Private Client Group, Wealth Management, or former Youth Account owner, will be reimbursed for ATM fees charged by other institutions. Please review your Fidelity Debit Card Agreement (PDF) for information on reimbursement caps or limits.

    Retail brokerage customers only: As part of this transition, you may be assessed a fee at PNC Bank ATMs effective August 22, 2024. Look for the Allpoint or MoneyPass logos to ensure a surcharge-free ATM experience.

  • What if there is more than one user associated with my account, or if I have multiple accounts?

    If you have a joint account, your joint owner will also receive a new replacement card. They will have to follow the same actions to activate. If you have multiple accounts, the cards will all be replaced but may arrive at different times.

  • What's going to happen to my active transactions?

    All active transactions, disputes, and/or fraud claims will continue to be processed throughout the transition. Debits or credits posted to your account after you receive your new card will continue to appear on your Fidelity statement.
